Join us for an evening of musical festivity as the Hartford Symphony Orchestra returns with the much-loved Independence Day tradition: “Celebrate America!” On July 5, with a rain date of July 6, several thousand will gather at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center—the summer home of the Hartford Symphony situated in the scenic Farmington Valley—for a delightful showcase of patriotic tunes and dazzling fireworks.

Joining the orchestra for this special occasion is the renowned percussionist Ed Fast and his Conga Bop Latin jazz septet, adding their unique flair to the festivities.

Ed Fast, a familiar face in the Hartford region and Hartt School alumnus, is a versatile percussionist as comfortable sitting-in with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra as he is touring with premier Broadway roadshows or gigging in bands accompanying big-name favorites. His Conga-Bop septet is known for its simultaneously lighthearted and hard-swinging Latin jazz and will add an extra layer of excitement to the program.

Gates open at 6 pm, with the concert starting at 7:30 pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Don’t miss out on this beloved Connecticut tradition at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center.  Tickets go on sale April 29 through the Hartford Symphony Box Office.
