Why a Virtual Gala – Again?
2020 brought life-altering changes to each of us. We are forced to reorder and re-examine our priorities, our lifestyles, our relationships to each other and to the outside world. Like you, the musicians, board and staff of Hartford Symphony have been touched by circumstances beyond our control, and some of us have suffered more than others, spanning emotional, financial and physical loss. Although we are physically apart, we are a community, determined to connect in the only shared space available – a virtual one.
This year’s virtual event, Metamorphosēs, acknowledges our communal and individual traumas, but also celebrates the future we build together. Our audiences and musicians are two halves of the same whole. Each feels incomplete without the other. We want to return to who we are – because we are at our best when we are together. The proceeds raised from this important event helps pave the road back, allowing the HSO to support our musicians and serve all in our community. We have all been changed, but as we focus on the silver linings and strive to reconnect our two halves, we realize that some changes are indeed miraculous transformations.
How to Be Part of Metamorphosēs
Wine, home improvement, a home-away-from-home get-away and more are yours from the comfort of your living room sofa! Our online auction will have all that and more – just for you. Everyone can participate and as soon as our auction goes “live” for your viewing, we will send you an email or text. So, to make sure you get the news first, be sure to register (we have a free option) or buy a meal package for yourself and guests to enjoy all that this special Gala has to offer. And tell your friends – just check this webpage periodically for updates and a few sneak-previews!

Like you, the Hartford Symphony is being transformed, and while change is a challenge, we are using the opportunity to learn, to grow and to be better. What we desire above all is to serve our musicians, our audiences, and our community, just as we have for 77 glorious seasons. Q: I’m not located in CT, can I get a meal if I buy a meal package?
A: We welcome participants from far and wide! While the meal box delivery radius is limited to the state of Connecticut, we’ve got an excellent “Out of Towner” package that will be shipped to you. The “Out of Towner” package, available to anyone in the United States (lower 48), includes a very special Cocktail Kit complete with a gourmet snack. Simply select the below option when buying your ticket:
Q: I want to be a Virtual Table Host. Do my guests have to buy the same level meal package?
A: No! You can mix and match meal packages and build your table to design something that works best for you and your guests.
Q: What are the dinner options for the ticket packages?
A: Click here to view the dinner menu by ticket level. In addition to the differences in menu selections, the two highest meal packages (Diamond and Patron) include a bottle of wine instead of the specialty cocktail that is included with Friend, Supporter and Forte!
Q: Will my meal come ready to eat?
A: Because we are delivering meal boxes across the state, meals will arrive cold with detailed reheating instructions to follow food safety regulations.
Q: If I have dietary restrictions, can I still order a meal package?
A: Absolutely. Please review the menus carefully and be sure to list your specific allergies or restrictions in the designated box when you are buying your ticket.
Q: I’m ready to buy my meal package but I’m not sure about my meal choice yet. Is that okay?
A: That’s okay! You can make a selection now, and if you change your mind, you are able to log back in and change your meal choice anytime between now and April 9, 2021.
Q: I’ve decided I am going to be a Virtual Table Host, but I don’t want to select the meals for my guests. How will that work?
A: It’s simple. If your guests are purchasing their own tickets, simply ask them to visit www.hartfordsymphony.org/bravo and click “Register Here” to review the ticket options and make their purchase. If you paid for your entire table, a special Guest RSVP form will be sent to you to share with your guests. Your guests can fill out their own information (either as an individual or a couple) so you won’t have to register each of your guests yourself.
Q: Why do I have to enter my credit card information to purchase my ticket(s) and then do it again to register for the online auction?
A: The “double entry” process is for your protection. For YOUR security, we cannot save your credit card information, so you will have to re-enter your information. Thank you for understanding!
Q: How do I register for the free livestream?
A: Go to the Register Here tab just below the Metamorphoses banner above on this page. Scroll down to the bottom of that page and click “Register to view the livestream on May 1st free of charge”. Make sure you select “Register for the free livestream” on the form and enter all information. A link to the livestream will be emailed to you shortly before the event.
Q: How do I get to the Virtual Gala?
A: Check the email that you used to register or buy your ticket. We will email you a link to view the May 1st Gala shortly before the event.
Q: How soon can I click the link to join the Gala?
A: The link will be “live” at 6:45PM on May 1, 2021. We’ll have a brief “waiting room” (so you’ll know you’re in the right place) and the Gala will begin automatically at 7:00 pm.
Q: How long will the Gala last?
A: From start to finish (including the waiting room and some ending surprises), the total running time is 45 to 60 minutes. We guarantee an entertaining evening of entertaining symphonic music and celebration.
Q: When do I have to purchase my ticket/submit my meal selection by?
A: The final deadline to order your meal is Friday, April 9, 2021. All purchases and selections MUST be made by that date.
