Getting to the HSO

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra performs at various locations throughout Greater Hartford including the Belding Theater and Mortensen Hall at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, the Wadsworth Atheneum, and the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center. The Administrative Offices are located at The Bushnell in Hartford, CT.

From the North or South, take I-91 to Exit 29A (Capitol Area). Go halfway around the rotary, and bear right onto Elm Street. Take the first left onto West Street. Turn right onto Capitol Avenue and continue one block to The Bushnell.

From the East, take I-84 West to Exit 50 (Main Street). At the second light, turn left onto Main Street. At the tenth light, turn right onto Capitol Avenue. Continue three blocks to The Bushnell.

From the West, take I-84 East to Exit 48B (Capitol Avenue/Asylum Street). Bear right onto Capitol Avenue. At the light, turn left onto Capitol Avenue. Continue one block to The Bushnell.

NEW! 315 Buckingham Street, Hartford, CT

We are happy to offer free parking on a first-come, first-served basis at 107 Capitol Avenue, in the open lot diagonally opposite The Bushnell, and in the garage at 315 Buckingham Street, on the corner of Buckingham Street and Washington Street.

The Buckingham Garage opens two hours before weekday evening performances and performances on Saturday and Sunday. The garage will close one hour after the end of the performance.

Accessible parking is available in these lots; look for prominently displayed signage and be sure to display a valid accessible parking permit.

Valet services are available two hours before performances. Drop off and pick up is located at 1 Clinton Street, Hartford. Valet is not available for weekday matinee performances. Price: $15

Paid parking is available in the garage at 120 Capital Avenue and in ProPark lots at 63-89 Capitol Avenue and 221 Hudson Street. Fees at ProPark lots may only be paid using a credit card at the kiosk, and you’ll need your license plate number when paying at the kiosk. Be aware of parking scams – Propark parking attendants do not ask for or accept cash.

Street parking can be paid for using a City of Hartford parking kiosk if payment is required. Be aware of signage that indicates restricted street parking hours. In the event of snow, the City of Hartford may ban street parking. Arrive early to allow ample time for parking and arrival to the theater.

Take Albany Avenue (Route 44) westbound through West Hartford to Avon. From the base of Avon Mountain continue west to the next four-way intersection, which is Route 10/202. You will see a large white church on the right. Take a right turn onto Route 10/202 (Simsbury Road) and travel north toward Simsbury.

Follow Route 10/202 for 4.6 miles to the center of Simsbury (Rte. 10/202 & Route 167). You will see another large white church on your left. Continue south 200 feet to the next traffic light. (Drake Hill Road). Turn right onto Drake Hill Road and continue east for 250 feet and then turn left onto Iron Horse Boulevard. Please follow signs as directed.

Take Exit 39 (Farmington – Route 4). Travel west on Route 4 for approximately one mile to the intersection of Route 10 (Waterville Road). Turn right onto Route 10 and continue north to Route 44. (Approximately 4 miles).At the intersection of Routes 10 and 44, turn left onto Route 44 (East Main Street) and travel west toward Avon Center. At the next four-way intersection, which is Route 10/202, you will see a large white church on the right. Take a right turn onto Route 10/202 (Simsbury Road) and travel north toward Simsbury.

Follow Route 10/202 for 4.6 miles to the center of Simsbury (Rte. 10/202 & Route 167). You will see another large white church on your left. Continue to the next traffic light. (Drake Hill Road). Turn right onto Drake Hill Road for 250 feet and then left onto Iron Horse Boulevard. Please follow signs as directed.

Take Exit 40 (Bradley International Airport – Rte. 20) and travel west on Route 20 for approximately 5.8 miles to the intersection of Route 10/202. (Salmon Brook Street) You are now in the center of Granby. Turn left onto Route 10/202 and head south on Route 10/202 toward Simsbury for approximately 5 miles. As you reach the five mile point you will look for a four-way intersection controlled by a traffic light. This is the intersection of Iron Horse Boulevard. A large white building, Simsbury Bank, is at this intersection. Turn left onto Iron Horse Boulevard. Please follow signs as directed.

The HSO asks that you please carpool whenever possible. Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center is now handling parking sales for TMMF. A limited number of parking passes for lots on site are available for purchase at each concert for $10 per vehicle (cash only).  Parking passes can only be purchased on the day of the concert starting at 5 PM.  Passes will be sold on a first-come-first served basis to those patrons displaying a valid state issued accessible parking permit. Limited free parking is available in the commuter lots along Iron Horse Blvd. and throughout Simsbury. Convenient and free shuttle service is also available from the Iron Horse Blvd. commuter lot at the intersection of Iron Horse Blvd. and Wilcox Street, as well as from Henry James Memorial Middle School, beginning at 5:00pm each evening. Convenient shuttle service is available from Henry James Memorial Middle School at 155 Firetown Road in Simsbury beginning at 5:30 p.m. each evening. Handicapped parking and shuttle service are also available from the same location. Parking will not be available at The Hartford, 200 Hopmeadow Street this year.
