About

Our season opener is sure to be a delight! Join the Hartford Symphony Orchestra for an enchanting evening of musical storytelling! Experience the fiery passion of Sarasate’s Navarra, a dazzling display of virtuosity and Spanish flair performed by performed by HSO violinists Leonid Sigal and Jaroslaw Lis. Delight in Prokofiev’s beloved Peter and the Wolf, brought to life by the captivating narration of Rev. Dr. Shelley Best, as each character is vividly portrayed through the orchestra’s masterful performance. Conclude the night with Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5, a powerful and uplifting masterpiece that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit. Don’t miss this unforgettable concert that promises to captivate and inspire!

One of the best things about the HSO is highlighting our musicians, and this year will be Jarek Lis’ 30th year with us. We can’t think of a better way to start the season than to pair Jarek with Concertmaster Lenny Sigal for Sarasate’s Navarra, one of the most famous romantic duos for two violins. We can’t wait!
