Nick Citro
Originally from Spring, TX, Nicholas Citro began viola at a young age in the public schools. He completed his BM degree at Baylor University, studying under Dr. Kathryn Steely and later received his MM degree under Victoria Chiang at the Peabody Conservatory. Additional influential teachers include Rita Porfiris, Stephen Wyrczynski, and Li-Kuo Chang. Committed to education, Nicholas is on the faculty of the Hartt Community Division at the University of Hartford, teaching violin, viola, and chamber music. As an orchestral player, he is also a member of the Eastern CT Symphony viola section, and performs in orchestras throughout Connecticut. Nicholas has also appeared at summer festivals including the Aspen Music Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the National Orchestral Institute. When not performing, he enjoys gardening, running, and cooking barbecue.
