Trumpeter Scott McIntosh was born in Carbondale, Illinois and raised in Austin, Texas.  A graduate of the University of Texas and the Juilliard School, Scott currently resides in New York City. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the New Jersey Symphony, the American Symphony, the Long Island Philharmonic, as well as many other chamber ensembles in the New York area. Scott joined both the Hartford Symphony as principal & Harrisburg Symphony as associate principal in June of 2007

Also an accomplished soloist, Mr. McIntosh appears regularly in and around New York City, and his performances have been hailed by The New York Times and the New York Daily News. Since 1980, he has held the position of trumpet soloist at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church in Manhattan, working both with Gerre Hancock and John Scott. He has toured Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Romania, the Soviet Union, Canada, and the United States. His concerto engagements have included appearances with the Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra and Tirgu-Mures Chamber Orchestra in Romania, the Scandinavian/American Chamber Orchestra in NYC, the Humboldt State Chamber Ensemble in Arcata, CA, the Brooklyn Bach Festival Orchestra, the New York Bach Ensemble, the Riverside Sinfonia in Lambertville, NJ, the Haddonfield Symphony Orchestra near Philadelphia and the Hartford Symphony most recently.

While a member of the Saturday Brass Quintet, he received the coveted First Prize in the Walter M. Naumburg Competition, May 1990. Mr. McIntosh has also won First Prize at the 1986 Korwin International Music Competition, and was a finalist at the 1986 Munich International Music Competition. He has served on the “distinguished artists” roster of both Affiliate Artists and Young Audiences.
