Devon Duarte

Devon Duarte is a violist based in the greater Hartford area. In addition to becoming a member of the HSO in 2023, Devon has performed with many ensembles throughout CT, most recently including Orchestra New England and the Greater Middletown Chorale. He is also currently a sub for the Binghamton Philharmonic in Binghamton, NY. In 2022 Devon became a LEAD Cooperative member at the Wintergreen Music Festival in Wintergreen, VA. While there, he performed under artistic director Erin Freeman and conductor Carl St. Clair with the festival orchestra.
Devon received his Bachelor’s degree in viola performance from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he studied with former Boston Symphony Orchestra member and renowned violist Lila Brown. He received his Master’s degree under the direction of Steve Larson at the Hartt School of Music.
Besides orchestral works, Devon is also passionate about chamber music. In 2019 he attended the Music from Salem Festival in Salem, NY, led by distinguished musicians Lila Brown and Sharan Leventhal, as an emerging artist. Devon currently performs with Golden Scroll Soloists, an award-winning string ensemble which travels throughout New England for intimate performances and events on a regular basis.
