Patricia Daly Vance

Patricia Daly Vance has performed as a violist with the Hartford Symphony for more than 40 years. She is a member of the Core Orchestra.

Patricia was Chair of the Orchestra Committee for many years and worked with both management and musicians to negotiate contracts for the Hartford Ballet, the Hartford Opera, and the Hartford Symphony.

Along with violinist Lu Sun and cellist Peter Zay, Pat is a member of the Mosaic Trio which has performed innovative music programming at inner city and rural public schools in Connecticut. The Mosaic Trio has also enjoyed a robust community outreach performance schedule.

She completed her undergraduate degree at the Eastman School of Music and received her Masters in Viola Performance at The Juilliard School as a scholarship student of Lillian Fuchs.

She was a member of the Aspen Music Festival Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic, and the Tanglewood Music Center Fellowship Program. She co-founded the Farmington Chamber Players and later created the Norfolk Chamber Players who performed at the Battell Stoeckel Estate in Norfolk, CT.

Patricia also taught in the public school string programs in Farmington, West Hartford, and Simsbury. While teaching at the Botelle School in Norfolk, CT, Patricia founded a new string program.  From 2005 – 2010, she was the Director of the Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Orchestra, where she created a new string program combining inner city and suburban students.

In addition to her performances with the Hartford Symphony, Patricia is currently a member of Camerata of Naples Florida. She also performs in the new series, Koreshan Music Salon, which presents chamber music in the famous Art Hall at the Koreshan State Park in Estero, Florida.

Over the years, her daughters, grandchildren, and other family members have enjoyed attending concerts and hearing Patricia perform with the Hartford Symphony, the Hartford Ballet and the Connecticut Opera.
