Lalitha Shivaswamy and Tony Falcetti Elected to HSO Board of Directors, Class of 2027

At the Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, we were excited to welcome Lalitha A. Shivaswamy and Tony Falcetti to the Hartford Symphony Orchestra’s Board of Directors, Class of 2027. Lalitha brings extensive experience in corporate and nonprofit leadership, along with a deep passion for the arts, while Tony’s lifelong dedication to music and leadership in both the nonprofit and business sectors will provide invaluable perspectives to our organization. We look forward to the contributions they will make as part of the HSO family.

Lalitha A. Shivaswamy is a thought leader with deep expertise at the intersection of law and finance. She has an impressive career as the co-founder and CEO of People First Technologies, Inc., a private placement and venture lending professional, and an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Her global leadership experience spans corporate and nonprofit sectors, with a focus on capital structure, compliance, and strategy development. She is a board member of the Hartford Chorale and Simsbury Performing Arts Center and has been admitted to the Bar Councils of both Connecticut and India. Lalitha’s remarkable background in venture capital, private placement, and emerging technology makes her a valuable addition to the Hartford Symphony Orchestra’s Board of Directors.

 

Tony Falcetti is the President and CEO of The Falcetti Companies, a family-owned business established in 1957, which includes Falcetti Music, Falcetti School of Music, Falcetti Pianos, Northeast Piano Service, and Northeast Piano Movers. With over four decades of experience in the industry, Tony has cultivated a passion for strategic planning, logistics, and staff development, driving the continued success and expansion of his company. Most recently, he led Falcetti Pianos’ entry into the Nashville, TN market.

 

Tony is also a dedicated advocate for music education and the performing arts. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including the National Association of Music Merchants, the Hartt School of Music, and most recently as Board Chair of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. He is an active pianist and a passionate supporter of live music’s societal impact.
