Hailing from Lake Jackson, Texas, Justin Ruleman joined the Hartford Symphony Orchestra in the Fall of 2022.

He received degrees from Northwestern University (M.M.) and Texas Tech University (B.M.). Additionally, at Texas Tech University, he studied General Business as a minor and earned a Certificate of Arts Entrepreneurship with a focus in administration. His principal mentors include Gail Williams (Chicago Symphony Orchestra, retired), Jonathan Boen (Lyric Opera of Chicago, Principal), and Christopher M Smith.

Justin Ruleman is a current member of the United States Coast Guard Band. He regularly tours the country with the ensemble which also performs at official ceremonies for the President of the United States. He also performs locally with the New Bedford Symphony and Eastern Connecticut Symphony on occasion.

Justin plays a Dieter-Otto 180K-JN with a Kühn #2 leadpipe and a Kühn W293.
