Experience the extraordinary sounds of chamber music in the beautiful and vibrant setting of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, under the artistic direction of HSO Concertmaster Leonid Sigal and featuring Hartford Symphony Orchestra musicians. Concerts are presented in collaboration with the Wadsworth Atheneum’s special exhibitions and permanent collections.
Members of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra perform a concert of works celebrating the ninetieth anniversary of the Wadsworth’s Avery Memorial building. Hear a selection of chamber works inspired by composers from the Wadsworth’s archive. Stop by the museum library before the performance for a special look behind the scenes with Amy Kilkenny, head of the Auerbach Art Library and Museum Archives, as she shares rarely seen historical materials related to the Avery building from the Wadsworth’s expansive archive. $30; $25 for HSO subscribers and Wadsworth members; $10 for students with ID (limited availability). For tickets and information, visit hartfordsymphony.org or call (860) 987-5900.
