Hartford Symphony Orchestra to host third annual naturalization ceremony
for 10 Connecticut residents on October 12

HARTFORD, CT (September 30, 2019) – A naturalization ceremony, where 10 Connecticut residents will take the oath to become U.S. citizens, will take place on Saturday, October 12 at 6:30 pm in the Belding Theater at The Bushnell in Hartford, prior to the Hartford Symphony Orchestra’s Masterworks concert, Rhapsody in Blue. This event is open to all Saturday, October 12 concert ticket holders.

Hon. Sarah A. L. Merriam, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Connecticut, will preside, and Joanne Berger-Sweeney, President and Professor of Neuroscience at Trinity College will be the keynote speaker. The evening will include HSO’s Music Director Carolyn Kuan leading the Pledge of Allegiance. and Hall High School senior Amelia Tripp will sing the national anthem. For the third year in a row, this event is generously sponsored and made possible by Leete, Kosto & Wizner, LLP.

This is the third annual naturalization ceremony to take place on the opening weekend of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra’s Masterworks season. In 2017, HSO Music Director Carolyn Kuan gained her citizenship at the ceremony, along with 10 other Connecticut residents from around the world.
