Hartford Symphony Orchestra Presents Mozart and The Romantics at the Wadsworth Atheneum as part of the Sunday Serenades Series

HARTFORD, CT (January 10, 2020) – Enjoy an afternoon of art and music at the second Sunday Serenades concert of the season, Mozart and The Romantics! The Hartford Symphony Orchestra presents Mozart and The Romantics on February 9, 2020 at 2 pm at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford. A pre-concert gallery talk by HSO Concertmaster Leonid Sigal will take place at 1 pm. For tickets and subscription information visit hartfordsymphony.org or call 860-987-5900.

Prepare for Valentine’s Day with an afternoon of soul-stirring music performed by Hartford Symphony musicians. The program includes Beethoven’s playful Serenade in D, Op 25, Loeffler’s wistful Two Rhapsodies, Mozart’s sparkling Clarinet Quintet, K. 581, and Schoenberg’s charming transcription of Strauss Jr.’s waltz, Kaiser-Walzer, Op. 437.

Sunday Serenades chamber music concerts are presented in collaboration with the Wadsworth Atheneum as a musical counterpart to special exhibitions and the permanent collections. Concerts take place in the museum galleries and feature Sunday Serenades Artistic Director and HSO Concertmaster Leonid Sigal and select HSO musicians. The Sunday Serenades chamber music series is made possible, in part, by the Saunders Foundation Music Endowment at the Wadsworth Atheneum and Nancy D. Grover in honor of Leonid Sigal, Concertmaster, Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
