HARTFORD, September 17, 2015 – So, how do you like your martini? The Hartford Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 2015-2016 POPS! Series with The Spy Who Loved Me with special guest Sheena Easton for one performance only, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 7:30 p.m., at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford. Dashing and debonair, James Bond’s movie themes evoke international intrigue, glamour and suspense. Two-time Grammy® Award-winner Sheena Easton, the featured singer on the James Bond soundtrack For Your Eyes Only, will enchant, entice and seduce you into the world of Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Moonraker, plus “spy” songs from Mission Impossible, Get Smart, Austin Powers, and more, conducted by Laura Jackson.


About Sheena Easton

Sheena Easton, whose career has spanned the last 30 years, was born in Bellshill, Scotland, the youngest of six children. Her recording career has included Gold and Platinum albums in the United States, Europe and Asia. She has sold over 20 million records worldwide, received two Grammys, and was the first – and still only – artist to have top five records on five major Billboard charts. In addition to her recording success, Sheena is a top concert attraction around the world. On Broadway, Sheena starred as Aldonza/Dulcinea in Man of La Mancha opposite the late Raul Julia. Throughout its year run the musical remained one of the top five grossing hits at the box office. She also starred on Broadway in the hit musical “Grease” as Rizzo. Sheena has been busy with frequent appearances in Las Vegas where she has been a major attraction for the last two decades, and she was recently inducted into the Las Vegas Hall Of Fame.

About the Conductor

In her seventh season as music director of the Reno Philharmonic, Laura Jackson continues to win praise for her artistry, leadership, innovative programming, and passionate community engagement. With the help of first-rate musicians, choir, staff, board members and community supporters, Laura captivates audiences and brings local and national recognition for Reno’s premier orchestra. In addition to concerts with the Reno Philharmonic, Ms. Jackson guest conducts nationally and internationally.
