Hartford Symphony Orchestra announces 2018 Talcott Mountain Music Festival

Grass Passes and Table Subscriptions on Sale Now; Single Tickets on Sale May 21

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce the programming for the 2018 Talcott Mountain Music Festival, scheduled June 29 through July 27 at Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center in Simsbury, CT.

This dynamic, crowd-pleasing, studio-tight Chicago tribute pays spectacular attention to every detail of the Chicago songbook! Your HSO and a full rock band will perform hits like “Saturday In The Park,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “25 or 6 To 4,” and “You’re The Inspiration.” Brass Transit has left crowds in awe and on their feet more than once, evoking comments like “spine-tingling,” “brought me back to my youth,” and “perfect in every detail.” Conducted by Adam Boyles.

HERE’S DOC! Celebrating 60 Years in Show Business

The one and only Doc Severinsen pays homage to the American songbook and highlights some of his favorite tunes of the Big Band era and beyond. Doc takes a trip down memory lane and shares some of his favorite stories and greatest musical influences. An exciting program of musical gems, Doc’s incredible trumpet playing and his candid connection to the music makes this an evening to remember forever! Conducted by Adam Boyles.

REWIND: Celebrating the Music of the 80s

Break out the Aqua Net! REWIND: Celebrating the Music of the 80s takes audiences back in time on a fun-filled musical journey of hits from the decade when parachute pants were cool and big hair was in style. Backed by a rock band and fabulous vocalists, your HSO will bring you music by artists like Wham, U2, INXS, Kool and the Gang, REM, Billy Joel – and much more! Conducted by Adam Boyles.

Open to all ticket holders, the HSO Family Activity Tent is open from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.; families can enjoy free activities such as music-themed art projects led by HSO teaching artists, giveaways, and HSO’s popular Instrument Petting Zoo.


The HSO offers a tax-deductible donation program unique to the Talcott Mountain Music Festival that supports the charitable efforts of the HSO in the community and, through a $100 donation, gives special benefits at the Talcott Mountain Music Festival, including early entry onto the field and entry into a weekly raffle. Grass Passes may be used in any combination for any concerts in the 2018 Talcott Mountain Music Festival; attendees may bring Grass Passes straight to the gate for admission.

Adult Grass Pass: 10 adult lawn tickets are $250 (save $50 off gate prices)
*Priority Adult Grass Pass price: $230 if purchased by Friday, May 4*
Adult Half Grass Pass: 5 adult lawn tickets are $125 (save $25 off gate prices)
Child Grass Pass: 10 child (age 12 and under) lawn tickets for $50
Family Pack: 12 lawn tickets (6 adult and 6 child tickets) for $180 (save $50 off gate prices)

All prices include $3.50 per adult ticket and $1.00 per child ticket fee paid to Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center. All dates, programs and artists are subject to change.

Parking passes for onsite lots are available for purchase from the Hartford Symphony Box Office starting May 21, 2018. The cost is $10 per car per concert. Passes can be purchased for the Handicap Accessible Lot or Lots C and D, which are located behind the stage and can be accessed on Iron Horse Boulevard.
