Grass Passes and Table Subscriptions on Sale Now; Single Tickets on Sale May 9

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce its programming for the 2016 of the Talcott Mountain Music Festival, scheduled July 1 through July 29 at the Performing Arts Center at Simsbury Meadows in Simsbury, Connecticut.

Starlets – The Women of Song features top female vocalists performing fan favorites from Barbara Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Adele, and more in one jam-packed evening. Starlets – The Women of Song celebrates the legendary female singers of the last 50 years in a powerful and inspiring evening of music that will have audiences on their feet! Conducted by HSO Assistant Conductor Adam Kerry Boyles.

Aaron Copland’s seminal piece, Appalachian Spring, is featured in its original chamber ensemble setting in this summertime evening of classical music under the stars.   Additional selections include Tchaikovsky’s Serenade, featuring the HSO string section, and a piano concerto by classical music’s quintessential genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (details to be announced shortly). Conducted by HSO Music Director Carolyn Kuan.

A Tribute to Ray Charles, Motown, and Beyond

A Tribute to Ray Charles, Motown, and Beyond is a soulful celebration of the R&B roots and deep passion for the heart and soul of music that featured artist Ellis Hall and Ray Charles shared through their personal friendship. Hits include “Georgia on My Mind,” “Hit the Road Jack,” “Ain’t No Mountain,” “America the Beautiful,” “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” and “Let the Good Times Roll,” plus some incredible Ellis Hall originals!

Faithfully – A Symphonic Tribute to the Music of Journey

Don’t Stop Believing! Faithfully-A Symphonic Tribute to the Music of Journey celebrates the music of Journey like never before.  Journey is one of the most popular American rock bands of all time with 25 gold and platinum albums and 19 top 40 singles and has performed around the world for four decades. Now for the first time, audiences can hear hits like “Faithfully,” “Any Way You Want It,” “Open Arms,” “Wheel in the Sky,” and many more, all with the fantastic Hartford Symphony Orchestra! Conducted by HSO Assistant Conductor, Adam Kerry Boyles.

FAMILY ACTIVITY TENT

Open to all ticket holders, the HSO Family Activity Tent is open from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.; families can enjoy free activities such as music-themed art projects led by HSO teaching artists, giveaways, and HSO’s popular Instrument Petting Zoo.

FRIENDS OF THE FESTIVAL

The HSO offers a tax-deductible donation program unique to the Talcott Mountain Music Festival that supports the charitable efforts of the HSO in the community and, through a $100 or $150 donation, gives special benefits at the Talcott Mountain Music Festival, including early entry onto the field, entry into a weekly raffle, and more. TICKET INFORMATION

Advance ticket offers for GRASS PASSESSM and TABLE SEATS only are available now through Friday, May 6.  Until May 6, these tickets are available by calling 860-987-5900 or by visiting The Bushnell Box Office, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 GRASS PASSES

Grass Passes may be used in any combination for any concerts in the 2016 Talcott Mountain Music Festival; attendees may bring Grass Passes straight to the gate for admission.

Adult Grass Pass: 10 adult lawn tickets are $180 (save $70 off gate prices)
Adult Half Grass Pass: 5 adult lawn tickets are $100 (save $25 off gate prices)
Child Grass Pass: 10 child (age 12 and under) lawn tickets for $50
Family Pack: 12 lawn tickets (6 adult and 6 child tickets) for $150

TABLE SEATS

Tables for eight people are located right in front of the stage.

Single Table Seats: 5-Concert Subscription for $190 (save $35 off gate prices)
Full Table: 5-Concert Table Subscription, 8 seats per table for $1,420 (save $380 off gate prices)

On Monday, May 9, 2016, advance ticket prices will increase to $200 for Adult Grass Pass.

Adult Lawn: $20 ($25 if purchased at the gate)
Child Lawn (12 & under): $5
Single Table Seat: $40 advance ($45 if purchased at the gate)
Full Table (8 Seats): $320 advance ($360 if purchased at the gate)

All prices include $3.50 per adult ticket and $1.00 per child ticket fee paid to the Performing Arts Center at Simsbury Meadows. All dates, programs and artists are subject to change.

PARKING PASSES

Parking passes are available for purchase from the Hartford Symphony Box Office starting May 9, 2016. The cost is $10 per car per concert. The pass can be used for Lots C and D, which are located behind the stage and can be accessed on Iron Horse Boulevard. For more information, please call HSO Ticket Services at 860-987-5900.
