Making Music Together

Listen, Share, Celebrate! is a program initiated in the 2018-2019 season to explore Greater Hartford’s rich musical traditions and to create music in partnership with local students. HSO musicians and students from McDonough Middle School will listen to each other’s stories, share their musical heritage, and celebrate their partnership by creating music together with the help of a local composer. Drawing from archival materials, the Connecticut Historical Society has created the exhibit Take Note! 75 Years of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the decades-long history of HSO, the people behind the music, and the important collaborations that have musically shaped the Greater Hartford community!
