The most common reason we hear when people stop coming to the HSO is “I have no one to go with.”
Maybe it’s the loss of a best friend who moved away, or maybe it was divorce or death that ended a marriage. Whatever the reason, people who find themselves alone tend to isolate, and pull away from social activities such as music, losing the very thing that brought them joy.
Music unites. The Hartford Symphony Orchestra is always searching for new ways to bring people together. Most importantly, we want you to continue your ongoing love affair with the music, and never worry about sitting alone at a Symphony performance.
That’s what inspired us to create COMMUNITY FRIENDS.
With HSO Community Friends, you will have the option of sitting with like-minded symphony fans, so that you’ll never feel alone when you attend a performance at the Hartford Symphony. In addition, you may attend a pre-concert dessert/coffee reception, where we hope you’ll meet new travel partners who have expressed a willingness to transport new friends.
Due to current restrictions on large gatherings, the remainder of the 2021-2022 season has been cancelled. The 2021-2022 HSO season will be announced in spring/summer 2021. We look forward to seeing you!
No matter how you choose to attend, the opportunity to meet new friends is important, so each of the five designated Sunday afternoon Masterworks performances will feature the pre-concert 1:00 pm coffee/tea/dessert reception, at a price of $8 per person for each reception.
*all prices are subject to change and may not be inclusive to all fees
