The desire to surround ourselves with beauty is universal and timeless. The exhibition Design in the American Home, 1650-1850 shows how the quest for color, texture, and splendor propels artful design. Enjoy a program of music that evokes the power of design, including Ives’ String Quartet No. 1 “From the Salvation Army,” and Beethoven’s Quintet in A Major, Op. 47,“Kreutzer.”
Single tickets and subscriptions are on sale now. For subscription information, please call 860-987-5900.
The Sunday Serenades Chamber Music Series is made possible, in part, by The Saunders Foundation Music Endowment at the Wadsworth Atheneum, and Nancy D. Grover in honor of Leonid Sigal, Concertmaster, Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
