Programmed around the celebration of The Amistad Center for Art & Culture’s 30th Anniversary exhibition, this concert features Walker’s captivating Lyric, Volans’ White Man Sleeps, Burleigh’s Songs and Spirituals and Dvorák’s Piano Quintet No. 2, Op. 81. Featuring HSO Concertmaster Leonid Sigal, vocalist Carrie Wilson, and leading HSO musicians.
The Sunday Serenades chamber music concert series is presented in collaboration with the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art as a musical counterpart to special exhibitions and the permanent collections. Concerts take place in the museum galleries, and feature Concertmaster and Sunday Serenades Artistic Director Leonid Sigal and Hartford Symphony Orchestra musicians. The Sunday Serenades Chamber Music Series is made possible, in part, by the Helen M. Saunders Charitable Foundation Music Endowment at the Wadsworth Atheneum.
