HSO: Intermix is intimate, inviting, and interactive! Get up close with HSO ensembles as they perform contemporary compositions and intriguing, rare, classical pieces. Enjoy cocktails, conversation, mingling, and more. Our February Intermix concert, Alleged Dances, takes place at a local distillery hot spot – Onyx Spirits Company in East Hartford! Grab a drink – you’ll want to stay.

The program highlights the undeniable connection between music and dance, and features an innovative mix of contemporary and classical: Aaron Jay Kernis’ 100 Greatest Dance Hits (which has been described as a “classical dance party”), John Adams’ charged John’s Book of Alleged Dances, and Tchaikovsky’s eloquent String Quartet No. 1.
