Julie Jarvis joined the HSO in early 2016, after almost two years with the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts. She attended the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts where she studied voice and musical theater, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University in 2014 where she double majored in Public Relations and Theater.
During her time at Quinnipiac, Julie was one of two students selected to represent the School of Communications in the Quinnipiac University Interdisciplinary Program for Research and Scholarship. Her research fellowship incorporated her love of hockey, and she spent her summer compiling a case study surrounding the Quinnipiac Men’s Ice Hockey team’s current public relations plan, and their relationship with the Hamden and Quinnipiac communities. This fellowship continued into an internship with the team her senior year.
Julie was born into a love of music and theater and is even named after Julie Jordan from Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel. She grew up singing and performing in musical theater throughout the state. Some of her favorite roles include Cinderella in Into the Woods, Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Olive in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Eponine in Les Miserables. Julie currently resides in Newington, CT and can most likely be found in Boston – her favorite city, watching Quinnipiac or New York Rangers hockey, seeing a show, or spending time with friends, family and her two puggles, Chrissy and Ella.
