Mickey Reisman grew up in Romania before emigrating to Israel, where he received a B.M. from the Tel Aviv Academy of Music. He worked in Pretoria, South Africa as Associate Concertmaster in the Pretoria Symphony and Opera Orchestras before moving to Hartford to attend The Hartt School, where he received his Masters in Music. Mickey studied violin with Yairr Kless, Eric Rosenblith, Peter Bondarenko, and studied chamber music with Eugene Drucker. He has been a soloist with the Springfield Symphony, the Dominican Republic Symphonia, the Pretoria Chamber Orchestra, and the Jerusalem Symphony.
In addition to his position in the HSO’s first violin section, Mickey is Principal 2nd Violin with the Springfield (MA) Symphony and is on the faculty of The Hartt School Community Division. Mickey lives in West Hartford with his wife Leana, a pianist, and their two sons, Daniel and Jonathan.
