Hailing from the greater Philadelphia region, clarinetist Eddie Sundra joined the Hartford Symphony in the fall of 2016. Other orchestras Eddie has performed with include the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, and Ann Arbor Symphony, along with other Michigan orchestras. Eddie received degrees in performance and chamber music from the Pennsylvania State University (B.M.) and the University of Michigan (M.M.), under the tutelage of Dr. Anthony Costa, Dan Gilbert, and Chad Burrow. Eddie has spent summers at the Aspen Festival, Eastern Music Festival, and Thy Chamber Music Festival in Aalborg, Denmark–where he was fortunate enough to perform with musicians such as Daniel Blumenthal and Charles Richard-Hamelin.
Eddie is also an active composer of chamber music and electronic music–some of which can be purchased at Potenza Music. He enjoys collaborative projects, such as incorporating music with photography, dance, and creative lighting in order to create a broader sensory experience.
Outside of the practice room, Eddie enjoys cycling, hiking the 14ers of Colorado, and dreaming of where his next ski trip may be.
