Allyson Michal is based in Greenfield, MA but performs regularly nationwide. Since moving to the east coast, she has won auditions with Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, and Portland Symphony Orchestra (ME). She attended Indiana University, Bloomington for her Bachelors and Northwestern University, Evanston for her Masters, both in violin performance. After graduating, she won a position with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra (OH). She enjoyed living and playing in Dayton for five years while teaching a full studio of violin students. She still travels to Ohio to visit her family while performing regularly with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. She has been fortunate to perform under many well known directors, including Esa- Pekka Salonen, David Zinman, and Bernard Haitink.
