Sharon dennison
Principal Violist

Sharon Dennison joined the Hartford Symphony in 1980, became Assistant Principal in 1985, and Principal Violist in 1993. She grew up in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC, and attended the American University in DC and the Yale School of Music, studying with Raphael Hillyer.

Sharon teaches privately at home and plays chamber music throughout CT. She also serves as the "logistical engineer" for a family of two children, Douglas 15 and Mia 8, husband Steve Perry, HSO Principal Tubist, and two canine members: Sobi, a shiba inu, and Gabby, a young pug.

When not playing the viola and taking care of the family, Sharon is an avid runner - she runs outdoors 12 months a year. She frequently participates in road races and has completed six marathons. She also loves to attend dog shows when she can.
